Tarp Tents: Versatile Protection.

Tarp tents are used to not only protect from the elements but can also be used for everyday jobs around the house and workplace. A tarp tent is simply a skeleton structure used to support a protective covering. The poly coverings used on a tarp tent can either be draped over the frame or hung down the sides as wall protection. Tarp tents can be used for more common objectives such as shelter when camping, but can also be used for applications such as photo booths and temporary dressing rooms.

Today, we are featuring a customer who has used a tarp tent as a protective spray booth for his paint shop by using some very simple items such as 3/4" EMT conduit, fitting connectors and a clear poly tarp. The canopy fittings and tubing were used as the framework and the clear poly tarps were then hung around the sides to create a protective barrier which contains the paint over spray. This simple method of creating a temporary tarp tent is very effective and affordable.

As you can see, tarp tents do not have a sole specific purpose and the applications that they can be used for is up to the designers imagination. However, if the tarp tent is constructed to protect automobiles or persons, we suggest using a prefabricated tent structure that is suited for this type of coverage. These more advanced structures also known as canopy tents, carports, portable garages and party tents can be found as packaged kits that are ready for immediate assembly.
